Using a nebuliser for asthma

What is asthma?

Asthma is a common condition that affects the airways in your lungs. Asthma sufferers have sensitive airways that become inflamed which can lead to mild symptoms like wheezing, coughing and breathlessness.

Sometimes asthma flare ups can make the condition worse, this can happen rapidly (such as exposure to smoke) or it can gradually emerge over hours or days (usually during or after a cold). Source: HealthDirect

What is a Nebuliser?

There are many asthma medications such as preventers, relievers and oral medications that can assist in the treatment of asthma. Your medication or device will be prescribed by a doctor.  A common device used for at home treatment is a nebuliser which converts liquid to a fine mist and is then inhaled.  Source: Asthma Australia
